Long Description:
-----------------
PATIENCE ABROAD features a collection of 9 addictive foreign
solitaire card games all run from a single menu. The games include:
Beleaguered Castle - Start out with the foundation (castle) surrounded
by the entire deck (army). Work the army into the castle one
card (soldier) at a time by rank, starting with the Aces (plebes)
and ending with the Queen and King (all's safe).
Florentine - Work the hand to the tableau in descending sequence
ignoring suit, and to the foundation in ascending sequence by suit.
The Great Wall - Tear down the great wall (tableau) by moving one card
at a time to the foundation, building in ascending sequence
regardless of suit. Move cards from one part of the wall to another
by matching in ascending OR descending sequence ignoring suit.
Four Kingdoms - You determine the ruler (suit) of each kingdom. Once
a ruler is decided, you may not change it. Help all of the people
of the ruler get home (move like suits to the foundations). Be
careful. No outsiders are allowed.
Monte Carlo - Match cards by rank either horizontally, vertically, or
diagonally. When a match is made, watch the tableau race up the
winding hill to the top, filling in with two new cards at the
bottom.
Russian Patience - Work through the hand manipulating the tableau so
that the Aces are all that is left on the four piles.
Sir Tommy - One of the oldest solitaire games. Work off the hand
building cards on the foundation in ascending sequence and on the
tableau in descending sequence regardless of suit.
Tower of Hanoy - More of a puzzle than a game. Manipulate a tableau
of nine cards until the entire tableau is stacked on one pile in
descending sequence. Smaller cards must be played on larger
cards.
Weddings in Paris - Monte Carlo variation. See if you can beat this
one. I think it's impossible!
Each game features its own resettable best scores table. Best scores
are determined using everything from cards remaining and mistakes made
to the time it took to play.
On-disk documentation covers rules and strategies for all nine games.
Most of the documentation may be viewed from within the program via
the screen-sensitive help.
